The company was established under the Libyan Commercial Law and has a Legal Status and an Independent Financial Responsibility.

The company is to be run by a Board of Directors and has a capital of LD 100,000,000.00 (One Hundred Million Libyan Dinars).

40% of the shares are owned by approximately one half million Libyan Nationals(represented by The Economic &Social Development Fund which It.s capital 10 billion Libyan Dinar) ;40% are owned by companies and banks; and 20% remain on offer for public.

On 15/01/08 the company was registered in the Libyan Company Register under number 3375.

On 23/01/08 the company was registered with the Libyan Chamber of Commerce under number 4498.

On 31/01/08 the company was registered with the Department of Taxation – Companies Section under number 5506.

On 05/02/08 the company became licensed for import under number 1415.

On 06/02/08 the first Board of Directors meeting took place and comprised the following attendees:

1. Mohammed Taher Siala – Chairman

2. Najib Mohamed Ohida – Vice Chairman

3. Omer El mehdi Bushrada – Member

4. Saed Awed Rashwan – Member

The Board approved a work programme for the company and appointed Mr Najib Mohamed Ohida as Managing Director to the company.

On 07/02/08 the company commenced its business in order to fulfil its objectives which are briefly outlined herewith :

T0 operate in the activities of commercial and manufacturing nature of fresh, dried, preserved and canned foodstuffs in order to maintain stability in foodstuff prices and secure its continued supply and its variety, and to further protect consumer health and a clean environment.

In order to achieve these objectives, the company may carry out the following:

1. Participate in the development of local agricultural produce and livestock and to work

towards its processing, canning, packaging and marketing.

2. Import, export, manufacture, and market all agricultural foodstuffs and in particular:

· Fresh, dried, ground and preserved fruit, and that which is canned in slices or pieces, as well as concentrates and all juices in the various packaging sizes and capacities.

· All types of grain (rice, maize, sesame, wheat, barley etc) and their manufactured products.

· Vegetable oils, vegetable butter, and vegetable ghee.

· Dried and canned olives; sliced and pitted olives; pesto and other related products of olives.

· Fresh, dried and canned Legumes.

· All dried, ground and processed nuts.

· Fresh and dried dates and all date produce.
